Texas Bluebonnets
State Flower of Texas (Lupinus texensis)
Photographed by Max Greiner, Jr. at The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden.
The Texas Bluebonnet (Lupinus texensis) was adopted as the State Flower of the Lone Star State in 1901. The vibrant Sapphire blue petals resemble the bonnets worn by Texas pioneeer women. They bloom across the Texas Hill Country in the spring, along with the
colorful Redbud tree (Cercis canadensis var Texensis). According to Trip Advisor, the free art park is in the top 10% of tourist attractions worldwide.
