About 14 million White-tailed Deer (Whitetails) live in the USA of which, up to 4 million live in Texas. The vast majority live in the Texas Hill Country. Artist, Max Greiner, Jr. photographed these free-roaming “Typical” bucks on his ranch in Kerr County, during the summer when the fast growing antlers were in velvet. This occurs prior to the Rut (mating season), which begins each fall. The graceful White-tailed Deer is one of God’s most elegant creations.
